Project Delivery Manager (PDM)
ABOUT US
FG Gold Limited has been awarded the Baomahun Gold concession project located in Valunia Chiefdom, Bo District, and is currently in the development phase. To support this project development, FG Gold Limited is seeking a qualified individual to fill the vacant position of Project Delivery Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Delivery Manager (PDM) is responsible for the successful development and delivery of the Northern Frontier Gold Project, from Preliminary Economic Assessment through Pre-feasibility Study, to the commencement of mining operations and sustainable production within 2 to 3 years.
The role provides strategic leadership and project management expertise to ensure the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and stakeholder requirements.
The PDM will coordinate multidisciplinary teams across exploration, permitting, engineering, construction, commissioning and operational readiness, together with contractors, consultants, government agencies and community stakeholders, to achieve the production commencement goal.
The position plays a critical leadership role in guiding the project from early-stage development through construction and into production, building high-performing teams and creating long-term value for FG Gold.
- Lead and manage all phases of the Northern Frontier Mine Development Project; develop and implement project execution strategies and delivery plans; establish project governance, reporting structures and performance monitoring systems; ensure project milestones are achieved within approved budget and schedule; lead project review meetings and manage project risks.
- Oversee and coordinate feasibility studies, detailed engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning; coordinate infrastructure development including access roads, water supply, power infrastructure and processing plant interfaces; manage project schedules and critical path activities while maintaining quality standards.
- Lead permitting and regulatory approval processes; coordinate Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA); ensure compliance with mining legislation, environmental regulations and land access agreements; manage relationships with regulatory authorities and support mine closure and sustainability planning.
- Develop and maintain relationships with government authorities, local communities, traditional landowners, investors and project partners; support community consultation and engagement programmes; promote social license to operate initiatives and ensure project commitments to local communities are fulfilled.
- Develop project procurement and contracting strategies; manage tendering, evaluation and contractor selection processes; administer EPCM, construction and service contracts; monitor contractor performance and manage commercial risks and contract variations.
- Champion a zero-harm culture across all project activities; ensure compliance with FG Gold HSE standards and regulatory requirements; lead project safety initiatives, audits, inspections and incident investigations; drive ESG and sustainability objectives throughout project development.
- Develop operational readiness strategies and plans; coordinate recruitment and mobilisation of operational personnel; lead commissioning and handover activities; support the transition from project delivery to mining operations.
- Lead, coach and develop project personnel and build a high-performance project delivery culture; maintain project controls including cost, schedule, risk and change management; prepare project reports for executive management and investors, and participate in project steering committee meetings.
QUALIFICATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Educational Background:
Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related Engineering discipline. A Master’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Mining, or an MBA, and PMP or PRINCE2 certification, are preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 10–15 years’ experience in mining, resources, or infrastructure projects.
- Minimum 5–8 years in a senior project leadership role.
- Proven experience delivering major capital projects exceeding US$50 million, from concept through commissioning.
- Experience working in remote or greenfield project environments, ideally in gold mining and African mining operations.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced project scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project)
- Financial and project controls management
- Contract administration and procurement management
- Strong report writing and presentation skills
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Languages:
Fluency in English.
Physical Requirements:
- Site-based Greenfield mining project; remote mine location.
- Roster-based employment.
- Exposure to construction, commissioning and operational environments.
- Occasional work outside normal business hours during shutdowns, commissioning and critical activities.
- Frequent interaction with operational and project teams.
