    ABOUT US

    FG Gold Limited has been awarded the Baomahun Gold concession project located in Valunia Chiefdom, Bo District, and is currently in the development phase. To support this project development, FG Gold Limited is seeking a qualified individual to fill the vacant position of an H&S Manager.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Role Purpose: The H&S Manager is responsible for the leadership, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of FG Gold’s Health and Safety management systems. The role ensures that all construction, commissioning, mining, processing, maintenance, and infrastructure activities are conducted safely and in full compliance with regulatory requirements, international mining standards, and corporate governance frameworks.

    The H&S Manager drives the development of a strong safety culture and proactive risk management practices across the site. He/she will provide visible leadership to promote a proactive and accountable safety culture across the organization and lead hazard identification, risk assessments, and implementation of risk controls.

     

    Health & Safety Leadership and Risk Management

    • Provide visible leadership to promote a proactive and accountable safety culture.
    • Develop and implement the Health and Safety Management System.
    • Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, and risk controls.
    • Ensure incident reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis.
    • Conduct inspections, audits, and workplace monitoring.
    • Implement contractor safety management systems.
    • Promote workforce engagement through safety initiatives.

     

    Regulatory Compliance and Governance

    • Ensure compliance with mining laws and labor safety requirements.
    • Maintain compliance registers and reporting systems.
    • Coordinate inspections and audits.
    • Support HSE policy development.
    • Advise management on compliance risks.

     

    Emergency Response & Crisis Management

    • Develop emergency response plans.
    • Ensure teams are trained and equipped.
    • Conduct drills and simulations.
    • Coordinate with emergency services.

    HSE Training and Workforce Management

    • Implement HSE training programs.
    • Ensure competency for high-risk work.
    • Integrate safety into workforce development.
    • Encourage hazard and near-miss reporting.

    Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement

    • Monitor safety performance indicators.
    • Prepare reports for management.
    • Analyze incidents and trends.
    • Drive continuous improvement.

    QUALIFICATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    Educational Background:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Mining Engineering, or related field.
    • Professional certification (NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent).

    Experience:

    • 10-15 years in HSE management in mining or heavy industry.
    • 5+ years in senior HSE leadership.
    • Experience in greenfield mining projects preferred.

    Languages:

    • Proficiency in English.

    Personal Attributes and Competencies:

    • Strong leadership and stakeholder management.
    • Advanced risk management and investigation skills.
    • Knowledge of mining regulations.
    • Ability to influence safety culture.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and reporting systems.
    • Ability to demonstrate leadership in safety and promote a zero-harm culture.

    Physical Requirements: Predominantly site-based role located at the mine with exposure to construction and operational mining environments.
