Community Liaison & Administration Officer
ABOUT US
FG Gold Limited has been awarded the Baomahun Gold concession project located in Valunia Chiefdom, Bo District, and is currently in the development phase. To support this project development, FG Gold Limited is seeking a qualified individual to fill the vacant position of Community Liaison & Administration Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Community Liaison & Administration Officer is responsible for supporting effective engagement between FG Gold, local communities, traditional authorities, government representatives, contractors, and other stakeholders surrounding the mine and project areas.
The role serves as a key point of contact between FG Gold and host communities, supporting communication, consultation, grievance management, stakeholder engagement, local content initiatives, and community development activities.
In addition to community liaison responsibilities, the role provides administrative and general office support to the Community Relations and site management teams, including maintaining records, preparing correspondence and reports, coordinating meetings, and supporting travel and logistics arrangements.
The position requires a highly organised, approachable, culturally sensitive, and trustworthy individual who can maintain strong community relationships while ensuring accurate and efficient administrative coordination.
- Serve as a primary day-to-day liaison between FG Gold and communities surrounding the mine and project areas; establish and maintain constructive relationships with traditional authorities, Paramount and Section Chiefs, village leaders, Community Development Committees, women’s and youth groups, local government representatives and civil society organisations; communicate company activities, project developments and employment opportunities to stakeholders; support community consultation and public engagement meetings; gather community feedback and communicate relevant concerns to FG Gold management.
- Receive, document and track community grievances, complaints, requests and concerns; maintain an accurate grievance register and supporting documentation; coordinate with relevant internal departments to investigate and resolve community complaints; follow up with affected stakeholders regarding grievance resolution; escalate sensitive, high-risk or unresolved issues to the Community Relations Manager.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Community Relations Department and site management; prepare letters, memos, meeting notes, reports and other correspondence; maintain organised electronic and physical filing systems and the Community Relations stakeholder database; schedule meetings, prepare agendas and take minutes; track action items and support preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly Community Relations reports.
- Coordinate logistics for community meetings, consultations, workshops and stakeholder events; arrange venues, transportation, refreshments and attendance registers; support travel and accommodation arrangements for Community Relations personnel; coordinate site visits involving government representatives, traditional authorities and other stakeholders.
- Support implementation of FG Gold’s Local Content commitments; assist in communicating local employment and contracting opportunities to communities; coordinate with Human Resources regarding community recruitment processes; support community training, capacity-building and workforce development initiatives.
- Support implementation and monitoring of community development and social investment programmes; assist in collecting information from communities regarding development priorities; support monitoring of projects relating to education, health, water and sanitation, livelihoods, agriculture and skills development; maintain project files and prepare activity reports.
- Maintain accurate stakeholder mapping and engagement records; prepare regular Community Relations activity reports; work closely with Human Resources, Administration, Security, Mining, Exploration, Environment, HSE, Supply Chain, Finance and Projects; communicate community concerns to appropriate internal departments and follow up on required actions.
- Comply with all FG Gold Health, Safety, Environmental and Community Relations policies; promote safe behaviour during community meetings and field visits; report hazards, incidents, community tensions and emerging risks promptly; support communication of relevant health, safety and environmental information to communities.
QUALIFICATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Educational Background:
Holds a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development, Development Studies, Sociology, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications, Human Resources, Office Administration or a related discipline. Additional training in Community Relations, Stakeholder Engagement or Conflict Resolution is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement, administration, development work, or a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with local communities and traditional authorities.
- Experience supporting administrative and office functions, including preparing reports, letters and meeting minutes.
- Experience working in mining, exploration, construction, infrastructure, or extractive industry environments is desirable.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Strong administrative and organisational capability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to maintain databases and electronic filing systems
- High level of integrity, discretion and confidentiality
- Strong cultural awareness and respect for traditional leadership structures
Languages:
Fluency in English.
Physical Requirements:
- Site-based Greenfield mining project; remote mine location.
- Roster-based employment.
- Exposure to construction, commissioning and operational environments.
- Occasional work outside normal business hours during shutdowns, commissioning and critical activities.
- Frequent interaction with operational and project teams.
